This is a rare chance to see over 50 paintings from one of the world's finest collections of 19th-century French painting, held by the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  Colossal Squid ExhibitionThe only colossal squid exhibit in the world is now open to the public. The 495 kilogram, 4.2 metre female colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni), the most massive invertebrate ever examined, will be on display at Te Papa for three years.
The colossal squid was defrosted and dissected at Te Papa earlier this year.
