BrewNZ Beervana 2009

Beervana 2009 is a sampling event for the public, featuring New Zealand brewers and well known celebrity chef Martin Bosley. Held on 28 and 29 August at the Wellington Town Hall, this event is intended to educate guests on beer styles and the art of beer and food matching, and offers the opportunity to meet brewers.

Come to the Wellington Town Hall for the ultimate beer tasting. Try beers from Auckland to Invercargill and even Australia! This opportunity happens only once a year to sample the freshest brews which have come from many many miles apart - all in one room, surrounded by fellow beer lovers.
  • Rub shoulders with 30+ premium craft brewers in one room, with tastings of up to 120 different beers.
  • Experience beer and food pairings (with Neil Miller and Martin Bosley) that you never thought possible!
  • Meet NZ's leading female brewer and discover how women have had a huge part to play in beer's history and will continue to play in the future.

Zukerman Chamber Players

Pinchas Zukerman has been recognised as a musical phenomenon for four decades. His genius and prodigious technique have long been a marvel to critics and audiences, and his exceptional artistic standards continue to earn him the highest acclaim.

The programme open with the Duo for violin and cello by Kodály. Bartók described Kodály’s music as “the most perfect embodiment of the Hungarian spirit”, clearly evident in this awe-inspiring work. Beethoven’s ‘Storm’ quintet, which finishes with an exhilarating ‘presto’ finale, is followed by Dvorák’s Quintet Opus 97 featuring music inspired by folk songs he heard in America where this work was composed.
