Jim Beam Homegrown 2011

Jim Beam Homegrown Wellington 2011Jim Beam Homegrown is back on the Wellington Waterfront this year with a monster line-up, an all new pop and RnB stage and a few suprises to make your Jim Beam Homegrown experience even better!

Each of the six stages has its own flavour. The largest of them, the Vodafone Dub and Roots stage boasts a truly epic line-up, with Shapeshifter joined by the legendary TrinityRoots, Tiki, Katchafire, Six60 and Salmonella Dub.

The Jim Beam Rock line-up see’s the first performance in two years from Blindspott, throw in The Feelers, Midnight Youth, Elemeno-P, The Checks, I Am Giant and Black River Drive and you’ve got a wall to wall day of Kiwi rock.

On the new Vodafone Pop and RnB stage a plethora of talent comes to Homegrown for the first time, with Dane Rumble headlining an all-star outing that includes J Williams, Savage vs. Scribe, Nesian Mystik, PNC, Kidz in Space, Ivy Lies, Motocade, DJ Logikal and hotly-tipped Wellington quartet Supermodel.

It will be an indie-licious day at the Red Bull Studio stage as Flying Nun legends The Clean share a massive bill with The Phoenix Foundation, Die! Die! Die, Cairo Knife Fight, The Ruby Suns, Family Cactus, Artisan Guns and an assortment of electro, pop and hip hop from Kids of 88, Tommy Ill and Coco Solid.

And it certainly doesn’t let up on the Nokia Electronic stage with State of Mind’s live show joining the genre defining sound of The Upbeats, Dubstep pioneer; Optimus Gryme and the fresh global sounds of Maya and Vanya, Dick Johnson, Tim Phin and Clarke Gayford.

Last but not least the free to the public Amphitheatre stage features the country’s premier 3 on 3 breakdancing competition with a mix of good time grooves from Sunshine Soundsystem, Jayson Norris and Brazilbeat Sound System.
